Despite rumors swirling around Jorginho's potential move to Barcelona, it appears the Arsenal midfielder may indeed head to Catalonia in the near future.
Jorginho has been a staple in England for over five years, initially joining Chelsea in 2018 before transferring to Arsenal. Although his contract with the Gunners lasts until the end of the season, with an option to extend for another year, whispers of a Barcelona move continue to gain traction.
Barcelona reportedly seeks additional midfield reinforcements, already having brought Oriol Romeu back to Camp Nou. Jorginho's name consistently pops up as a top contender, and his association with the Catalan club dates back years.
In November 2022, Sport reported that Jorginho's agent Joao Santos met with Barcelona executive Mateu Alemany to discuss a potential move. While Santos was spotted in Barcelona at that time, he denied meeting Alemany and later finalized Jorginho's transfer to Arsenal.
Interestingly, Jorginho's connection to Barcelona goes way back to 2015 when he was still making a name for himself at Napoli. Santos had compared Napoli's philosophy to that of Barca during contract renewal negotiations.

Despite not officially scoring for Arsenal, Jorginho made headlines last season after his last-minute shot against Aston Villa deflected off Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez and clinched a thrilling victory. This season, he has faced stiff competition from record signing Declan Rice.
Rice has expressed his admiration for Jorginho in a recent Channel 4 interview, highlighting the Italian player's remarkable skills as a holding midfielder. The praise suggests that Jorginho still has much to offer on the field and could undoubtedly be an asset wherever he ends up – be it Barcelona or elsewhere.
