Latest news on Manchester United takeover

Sheikh Jassim's latest bid, thought to be worth over £6 billion, involved injecting funds to revamp facilities like Old Trafford and wiping out the club's current debt. However, the Glazers turned it down, forcing the Qatari party to withdraw after being accused of seeking an exorbitant price.

Now, INEOS director Ratcliffe has received the Glazers' nod for a 25% stake acquisition in Manchester United. The club is set to finalize this deal during a board meeting later this week. Red Devils supporters have eagerly anticipated the Glazers' departure as they have expressed their disdain for the owners ever since last November when they hinted at selling the club.

This new deal with Ratcliffe may very well pave the way for a staggered takeover, ultimately leading to the Glazers' exit.
