Martinelli expressed his last-minute goal against Manchester City

Gabriel Martinelli enthusiastically expressed that his last-minute goal against Manchester City demonstrates Arsenal's significant improvement since last season.

The Brazilian played a role in the team's disappointing loss of an eight-point advantage in April, finishing second in the title race to a team they hadn't defeated in the Premier League since 2015. However, with their recent 1-0 victory at the Emirates, Arsenal now stands two points ahead of Pep Guardiola's squad, exuding confidence that they can maintain this lead until the season's end.

"Absolutely, it was a psychological boost! Clinching a win against top-tier teams like City feels fantastic," beamed Martinelli. "I couldn't be happier. We are Arsenal, and we always keep our sights set on the title.”

Defeating such a prominent team is no small feat, and Martinelli believes the team just needs to maintain momentum: "We're well aware of how challenging it is to face them. It was a stellar group performance that led to an incredible win."

As members of Arsenal, they never lose faith in their abilities. "Belief is ingrained in us as part of who we are, and we constantly remind ourselves that we have what it takes to win championships." Remarkably, they earned their three points without star player Bukayo Saka, who was absent from the Premier League lineup for the first time in 88 matches due to a hamstring injury.

Martinelli acknowledged Saka's importance: "He is undeniably crucial to our success; he has so much potential. Our victory over City was not only for our dedicated fans and ourselves but also for Bukayo. We intend to use this new year as an opportunity to continue improving and surpass our previous accomplishments."
